TORONTO BOAT DETAILING

Gelcoat Repair & Paint in Toronto & GTA | Spot Repairs & Refinishing

Small gelcoat damage turns into bigger problems when fiberglass stays exposed. We handle localized gelcoat repairs and spot refinishing to blend damaged areas, protect the surface, and stop wear from spreading — with a clear scope and honest expectations.

What’s Included in Gelcoat Repair & Refinishing

We tailor the work to the damage type, access, and finish (gelcoat vs painted surfaces). Typical scope includes:

Localized Repairs (Core)

  • Inspect chips, cracks, gouges, and worn-through spots
  • Prep the area (clean, shape, stabilize edges)
  • Fill and rebuild the surface (repair compound/gelcoat as appropriate)
  • Sand and level for a smooth transition

Blending & Finish (Core)

  • Color-matched gelcoat/finish work as close as possible
  • Polish/refine the surrounding area to help the blend
  • Clean final edges and confirm surface is sealed and protected

Optional (Only With Approval)

  • Larger-area blending (when spot repair isn’t enough)
  • Minor fairing for shape correction (case-by-case)
  • Protective finish after repair (wax/sealant)
  • Small adjacent cosmetic touch-ups during the same visit (scope-based)
Honest note: Color matching is influenced by sun fade, age, and previous work. We aim for the best possible blend, but some repairs may remain slightly visible up close — especially on older or heavily faded gelcoat. We’ll set expectations before starting.

Repair Before It Spreads (Our Approach)

Define the True Damage Edge

We identify what’s really compromised — not just what you see on top.

Prep & Stabilize

Proper prep prevents future cracking and helps the repair hold long-term.

Rebuild, Level & Blend

We rebuild the surface, sand/level correctly, then blend and refine the finish.

Seal & Protect

We seal exposed fiberglass to prevent water intrusion and future damage.

If we see deeper structural issues (soft spots, delamination), we’ll tell you straight — that’s a different category of repair.

Repair Packages

Choose the level based on visibility, number of repair points, and finish expectations.

Small Chip / Spot Repair (Maintenance)

  • Localized fill + sand/level
  • Basic blend and surface seal

Great for: small chips, minor dock rash, isolated wear-through.

Multi-Area / Refinish Work (Case-by-Case)

  • Multiple repair points or larger damaged sections
  • More blending time and finish refinement
  • Scope depends on access and condition

Note: Larger or complex repairs may require multiple stages and cure time. We’ll plan the process clearly.

FAQs

Can you make it look like new?
Sometimes yes, but not always. We can often blend repairs very well, but sun fade and older gelcoat can limit a perfect invisible match. We’ll be honest upfront.
Will this stop water from getting into fiberglass?
Yes — sealing exposed fiberglass is one of the main reasons to repair early.
Do you repair cracks?
We can repair many surface-level cracks, but if cracks are structural or caused by movement, we’ll flag it and recommend the correct repair path.
How long does it take?
Depends on size/number of damaged spots and cure time. Send photos + location and we’ll quote accurately.
