TORONTO BOAT DETAILING

Boat Bottom Painting in Toronto & GTA | Antifouling, Hull Prep & Barrier Coats

Bottom painting isn’t just “paint.” The result depends on prep, sanding/stripping, cleaning, correct primer/barrier system, and proper antifouling application. We handle the full process for sailboats and powerboats — seasonal refresh or full refinish — with clear scope, marina-friendly coordination, and quality control.

What’s Included in Our Full Bottom Painting Service

We tailor the service to your boat type (sailboat/powerboat), existing paint condition, and marina rules. Our full bottom painting scope includes:

Haul-Out Coordination (Core)

We work with marinas/boat yards and coordinate scheduling and access.

Bottom Prep (Sanding / Stripping) (Core)

  • Full sanding for seasonal repaint
  • Stripping of old paint layers when needed (case-by-case, based on buildup/adhesion)

Cleaning (Pressure Washing) (Core)

Pressure washing to remove slime, growth and contaminants before paint work.

Barrier Coating (Optional Epoxy Base)

Optional epoxy barrier coating for extra protection when appropriate.

Anti-Fouling Paint Application (Core)

Premium antifouling paints (e.g., Interlux, Pettit, etc.) with correct application and coverage.

Keel & Waterline Detailing (Core)

Tape-off, trim lines and detail work for clean edges and consistent finish.

Final Quality Check (Core)

Full inspection for even coverage and consistent thickness, with touch-ups as needed.

Honest note: Results depend heavily on what’s under the paint (previous layers, adhesion, moisture, and how many coats are already on the hull). If the boat needs extra stripping, repairs, or a different system than planned, we’ll tell you straight and quote the change before doing it.

Seasonal Repaint vs Full Refinish (What to Choose)

Bottom paint works best when the prep matches the condition underneath.

Seasonal Bottom Paint (Refresh)

Best when the existing base is solid and you just need a new antifouling layer:

  • Pressure wash + sanding/scuff
  • Spot prep where needed
  • New antifouling coats

Great for: yearly maintenance, consistent protection, boats with good paint history.

Bottom Paint That Holds Up (Our Approach)

Bottom painting is a system — not a single product. We focus on:

  • Proper surface prep for bonding
  • Correct primer/barrier strategy when needed
  • Premium antifouling matched to your usage and conditions
  • Clean tape lines + detailed edges (keel, waterline)
  • Final QC so coverage is even and consistent

Boats We Service

  • Sailboats (keel detail included)
  • Powerboats (cruisers, express boats, yachts)
  • Seasonal maintenance programs
  • Brokerage / pre-sale bottom paint refresh

FAQs

Do you handle the whole process or just paint?
We handle the full system: haul-out coordination, pressure wash, sanding/stripping (as needed), primer/barrier options, antifouling application, detailing, and final QC.
Which antifouling paint do you use?
We use premium marine paints (Interlux, Pettit, etc.). Final selection depends on your boat type, water conditions and usage.
Can you do clean keel and waterline lines?
Yes — keel and waterline detailing is included, with tape-off and trim for clean edges.
How do I know if I need seasonal repaint or full refinish?
If the existing paint is solid and not flaking, a seasonal refresh usually works. If layers are thick, failing, or uneven, a full refinish is the right move. Send photos and we’ll recommend honestly.
