Pre-sale boat detailing for a photo-ready listing.
Pre-sale prep is about one thing: making the boat look clean, sharp, and “well cared for” the moment a buyer steps onboard. We deliver a complete detailing package that improves the first impression helps your boat stand out and sell, and makes it photograph better and show cleaner at viewings, with a clear scope and honest recommendations.
- Photo-ready for the listing
- Brokers & dealers welcome
- Before and after photos
Pre-sale boat detailing in one minute
What is pre-sale boat detailing? It is detailing aimed at what a buyer notices first: hull gloss, waterline, non-skid, cockpit seats, cabin smell, head and galley. The boat is deep cleaned inside and out, odors are removed at the source, and the finish is polished and protected only where it really changes how the boat looks.
- What it is
- Pre-sale boat detailing: the boat deep cleaned inside and out, odor removed and the finish brought up, so it looks well cared for in listing photos and at viewings.
- Brokers & dealers
- We prepare listing and dealer inventory across the GTA and work around showings and broker access, with special pricing for brokers and dealers. Ask us.
- Timing
- Book before the listing photos. Most boats take one to a few days, depending on size and condition.
- Prices
- Exterior wash from $20/ft, interior from $30/ft, polishing from $65/ft, before 13% HST. Full pre-sale packages are quoted from photos.
- Where
- At the marina, in the yard or on a trailer, from Oakville to the Scarborough Bluffs.
Eight places buyers look first.
We start with what shows in listing photos and in the first minute of a viewing, then build the rest of the scope around your selling timeline.
Hull gloss
The first thing a buyer sees from the dock. Chalky gelcoat reads as “neglected” even when the boat is sound.
Waterline
A brown or green scum line shows in every listing photo.
Non-skid
Grey, dirty non-skid makes the deck look old. Deep cleaning brings back an even colour.
Cockpit seats & vinyl
Mildew spots and grime on vinyl are the most common close-up complaint.
Cabin smell
Buyers decide in the first minute inside. Musty or holding-tank smell is removed at the source, not covered up.
Head & galley
Clean, sanitized and dry: the two places buyers open every cupboard.
Transom & name
Old names and graphics can be removed and the area cleaned up for the new owner.
Glass & canvas
Clear windows and clean canvas make the whole boat look looked-after.
What’s included in pre-sale preparation.
Brokerage-ready presentation: clean, even, fresh, built around what buyers actually notice first.
Exterior Presentation (Core)
- Hull & deck cleaning (remove grime, algae/film, light staining)
- Non-skid deep cleaning (as needed)
- Waterline cleanup (light to moderate, scope-based)
- Wipe-down of key exterior touch areas for a clean finish
Interior Presentation (Core)
- Full interior vacuum + wipe-down
- Vinyl & upholstery cleaning (seats, cushions, bolsters)
- Carpet/floor cleaning (shampoo/extraction where applicable)
- Cabin/head/galley cleaning (surface-level deep clean)
- Odor neutralization (source cleaning + neutralization, not cover-ups)
Visual Upgrade Options (Only With Approval)
- Machine polishing / oxidation removal (if the hull is dull or chalky)
- Wax / sealant / ceramic protection options (gloss + easier maintenance)
- Teak cleaning & brightening (if applicable)
- Decal removal / surface cleanup (if old graphics date the boat)
Honest note: Some boats need polishing to look “photo-ready,” others only need a deep clean. If a service won’t noticeably improve resale presentation, we’ll tell you and save you money.
Buyer-eye zones first, then the rest.
We focus on “buyer eye” zones first, then build the scope around your listing photos, showings, and broker access.
Identify buyer-eye areas
Hull gloss, cockpit seats, cabin smell, non-skid, transom.
Deep clean first
Remove film, grime, and hidden dirt.
Correct only what matters
Polish/protection only if it moves the needle.
Finish for presentation
Even look, fresh feel, no obvious misses.
Ready for the survey, honestly.
A clean boat is easier to inspect, and a surveyor notices care. We get it ready; the surveyor and mechanic do their part.
What we do
- Deep clean inside and out, including lockers
- Engine bay and bilge cleaning so everything is visible
- Small gelcoat chip and crack repairs, colour-matched
- Old names and graphics removed if you are changing them
What we don’t do
- Marine surveys or condition reports
- Mechanical inspection or engine work
- Structural repairs or osmosis treatment
