What’s Included in Hull & Deck Cleaning

We tailor the service to your boat’s layout (freeboard height, non-skid, rails, swim platform, rub rail, waterline). Typical scope includes:

Exterior Cleaning (Core)

  • Full hull wash (hand wash + rinse)
  • Deck wash (including non-skid cleaning)
  • Waterline cleaning (light to moderate buildup)
  • Removal of algae/green film and surface grime
  • Detail wipe-down of high-touch exterior areas (rails, handles, hatches as applicable)
  • Final rinse + quick towel/dry where possible (to reduce spotting)

Stain & Buildup Treatment (Core)

  • Targeted treatment for organic stains (algae, tannins, dock grime)
  • Targeted treatment for mineral/water marks where applicable
  • Light oxidation film removal only if it’s surface-level (not machine polishing)

Optional (Only With Approval)

  • Heavy waterline stain removal / acid wash (case-by-case)
  • Mineral spot treatment / de-scaling (targeted)
  • Spray maintenance coating / quick protection refresh
  • Vinyl conditioning (exterior seats)
  • Canvas / enclosure wipe-down (where applicable)
  • Light polish touch-ups (case-by-case)
  • Hull machine polish (if oxidation is deeper — separate service)
Honest note: results depend on gelcoat condition, prior protection (wax/sealant/ceramic), and how long stains have been baked in. If we see heavy oxidation or deep staining that needs machine polishing or a different approach, we’ll tell you straight before adding work.

Algae, Stains & Oxidation — How We Clean It Right

Exterior issues usually come from organic growth + mineral deposits + oxidation film. We handle it in layers:

  1. 01
    Identify the stain type
Organic vs mineral vs oxidation film — the right approach starts here.
  2. 02
    Use marine-safe chemistry
Not one “universal” soap — we match products to the problem and surface.
  3. 03
    Agitate properly
Especially on non-skid — clean effectively without unnecessary abrasion.
  4. 04
    Rinse and finish
Controlled rinse + finish work to minimize spotting and streaks.
Reality check: if the hull is chalky or faded, washing alone won’t “fix” it — that’s when machine polishing is the correct solution.

Exterior Cleaning Packages

Choose the level that matches the condition — we’ll recommend honestly.

Exterior Refresh (Maintenance Wash)

Best when the boat is already in decent shape and needs a clean-up.

  • Hull + deck wash
  • Light waterline cleanup
  • Algae/film removal

Great for: weekly/bi-weekly maintenance, after weekend use, quick “always ready” look.

Heavy Stain / Oxidation Prep (Case-by-Case)

For tougher situations (baked-on stains, heavy waterline, chalky surface).

  • Focused treatment on heavy buildup areas
  • May require stronger chemistry / multiple passes
  • Often leads into polishing recommendation if oxidation is deep
Note: If oxidation is significant, the correct result comes from machine polishing (separate service). We’ll explain options clearly.

FAQs

Do you remove waterline stains?
Yes — light to moderate waterline stains are included depending on package. Heavy staining may require a case-by-case treatment (we’ll quote it clearly).
Will washing remove oxidation?
Light surface film, sometimes. But real chalky oxidation needs machine polishing to restore gloss — washing won’t replace that.
Is it safe for gelcoat and non-skid?
Yes. We use marine-safe products and the correct agitation method for non-skid so it cleans without unnecessary abrasion.
How long does hull & deck cleaning take?
Depends on size and condition. Most jobs range from a few hours to a full day for deeper resets.
Can you do exterior only (no interior)?
Yes — exterior-only hull & deck cleaning is very common.
